Spain Video

My best friend Courtney is spending a semester abroad in Spain this Spring, and not gonna lie, but I'm a little bit jealous right now ;)
I'm excited for her and glad that she's enjoying her adventures and I can't wait to hear all about them.

It reminded me though that I haven't posted my video yet of my footage and experiences in preparing for, going to and returning from Spain. Here is the link to the video: I LOVE SPAIN!

Printmaking Final

Today I finally finished my printmaking final. What a relief! I've loved this class, but I have also dedicated so much time to it that it is almost ridiculous. This last project was tough, but it's over now and I'm really pleased with the result. This time we had to make an edition of 8 prints plus a BAT, so 9 prints in total. We also had to make a portfolio box to put our prints in.
Here's how my box turned out:

Open it up and you find my prints.

Here's what the print looks like. It is a 9x12" Intaglio print using line etching, aquatint and some dry point. It was inspired by the architecture in Alcalá where I stayed in Spain.

2 finals down, 4 more to go!

An Art Update

Some things I've been up to for the past couple weeks.

Here is a test print of my latest intaglio print. It looks different than this because I made some changes, but you can get the general idea.

My painting hanging in the Student Show.

Still life paintings for my painting class.

Can't believe that classes are over and that finals start Saturday. The semester has flown by. I still have a lot to do before I'm completely finished by the end is in site and then I get to hang out with these guys!!!

Send motivational thoughts my way!

Easter Weekend

I spent Easter weekend at my roommate Melanie's house and then Easter dinner at my Aunt Melanie's house. It was fantastic.
We dyed eggs.

We searched for and found Easter baskets.

We hunted for eggs.

And ate lots of delicious food. It was a great weekend.

Divine Comedy

Last Friday Courtney, Melanie, Peter and I went to see Divine Comedy. It was truly divine. There were some pretty hilarious skits including a parody of Breaking Dawn and Phantom of the Opera. Great laughs and friends.

Happy Easter

I know that my Redeemer lives
What comfort this sweet sentence gives
He lives, He lives who once was dead
He lives, my everliving Head
He lives to bless me with His love
He lives to plead for me above
He lives my hungry soul to feed
He lives to bless in time of need

He lives my kind, wise heavenly friend
He lives and loves me to the end
He lives and while He lives I'll sing
He lives my Prophet, Priest and King
He lives and grants me daily breath
He lives and I shall conquer death
He lives my mansion to prepare
He lives to bring me safely there

Oh, sweet the joy this sentence gives,
"I know that my Redeemer lives"

The Easter Bunny is Real.

I just got a package from the Easter Bunny. Best Day Ever!!!

Awesome.

I pretty much have the coolest family overall and the coolest older sister. On Thursday I went to see Jessie perform her ice skating final. To say the least, it was awesome. Mark, Kami and I arrived prepared with roses, and a teddy bear to throw on to the ice and signs with the rating of "10" on them. Hopefully Jessie enjoyed our enthusiasm. It was well deserved :)
Here's the clip of her group ice skating. She is the one with the gold headband.

Yeah...my sister is that good at ice skating.
(my little sister is also awesome at iceskating so maybe I need to jump on this bandwagon to fit in with the sisters)

So proud of my little ice skater and so glad that I could watch her perform.
Love you Jess :)

A Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend was General Conference and it was wonderful! I loved it. My favorite talk was from President Eyring. You can listen to the talks here

To celebrate the weekend of listening to a Prophet's voice, we went to Sylvia's Bakery and got some delicious orange rolls to enjoy during the Saturday morning session.

Then right after the Saturday afternoon session, Alissa and I left to stay the rest of the weekend at her lovely home. It was SUCH nice weather and we went on a beautiful little hike behind her house.

Then we went to the grocery store to buy ingredients for some Chicken Divan. It was delicious. And we made cream cheese chocolate cupcakes...sooooo good :) We watched conference the next day and enjoyed some delicious german pancakes and leftovers for dinner. It was just what we needed before the final push of classes and finals!
