Valencia Pt. II

The bus dropped us off in front of El Museo de Cerámicas de Valencia and we had free time until 8:00 when we were going to meet up for dinner as a group. I went to the Ceramics museum with a group of people and it ended up being pretty cool.

The guard pointed out to us that these plates were made by Picasso, which was a great little surprise!

The museum itself used to be a palace, so it still was all fancy inside

Leigh and I had to take a mirror pic :)

Then we went to a Lladró store and I snuck this picture because these dogs look just like Max

Then I found this treasure...This was the best napolitana de chocolate that I have ever eaten in my life. There was more than just the normal chocolate in the center...something like nutella or melted chocolate. Needless to say it was delicious and huge, so Leigh and I shared it.

Found the plaza de toros in Valencia

Then we had a 3 course dinner as a group that included a tuna salad, paella and flan for dessert.

It was a great day and Valencia was a lot of fun. It's crazy how much we saw and did in the little amount of time that we had there.

Valencia Pt. I

And thus begins the large amount of blog posts about this past weekend's trips to Valencia, Barcelona and Zaragoza. First of all, we drove for about four hours to arrive at Valencia, where we had a guided tour that took us throughout the city. One of the stops was at this market...

Found a pig's head if that's what you are in the mood for:

Leigh and I celebrated our Virginian roots:
(Leigh and I have discovered that we went to the same Mormon Prom one year and the same stake dances sometimes and we were in the Langley ward at the same time one week this Summer...but we didn't even know each other before this...crazy!)

So much jamón everywhere:

Valencia is famous for its oranges, which you can see growing on this tree:

The symbol for Valencia is this bat that looks like the symbol for batman:

Then we walked to a cathedral:

And we stopped at this boat port that was super close to the beach as well:

Lexy, Leigh and I:

Then we went to La Ciudad de Las Artes y Las Ciencias de Valencia. Unfortunately we only had about 15 minutes to look around and take pictures, but it was way awesome. I touched the water:

Leigh and I in front of the awesome architecture:

found this sweet tepee/cone sculpture:

Coming up is our free time in Valencia...
