Fuimos a Madrid...

This past Saturday, Alexis and I decided to go to Madrid for the day because we had some shopping that we wanted to do. The Saturday before we had seen some boots that we were both interested in, so we wanted to go back and get them.

We took the bus to Madrid and then the metro to Sol. Let me just say that the metro system here rocks. It is so clean and nice and not super confusing. It is a million times better than the subways in New York and it's even more pleasant than the metro in DC, which isn't that bad.

Our first order of business was to get an English to Spanish and Spanish to English Dictionary. check. Then we went to H&M and got some sweet deals there. I got a bag for 1 Euro and a scarf for 1 Euro. perfect. Alexis even got 2 pairs of shoes for 1 Euro each...can you say bargain? We were pretty excited. Then we went to Zara, which has really cute clothes. And we got matching shirts because they only had the same shirts in the size that we wanted. Then we went to Zapatería and I think we were there for about an hour trying to decide on the color, size and whether or not we were going to buy these boots. The problem was that they didn't have the original colors we wanted in our sizes. But it ended up working out perfectly. We found the color and size that matched us. We were so excited about our shoes that we put them on in the store immediately after buying them. The workers were kind of laughing at us, but we didn't care because we were so excited and just living our lives.

Then we went to La Plaza Mayor and ate our jamón with manchengo cheese...so delicious.

Here we are with all of our purchases...it was a very successful day.

These are the shoes. I got the green, and Alexis got gray. They are made in Spain and I think they are a great souvenir that I'll love to wear to remind me of Spain :) I'm excited. And they only cost 14 Euros, which really isn't that expensive. Another score!
