Hey there family!!
Happy June!!!! Time is flying by! We had an awesome week here! Filled with some wonderful spiritual experiences.
I feel so luck to have met Elder Christofferson!! So on Saturday was our mission conference that Elder Christofferson came to. We have been preparing for his visit by having a 40 day relay mission fast. Each companionship took a turn fasting for two meals and then another companionship would start when one ended. Through this fast we were trying to cleanse ourselves from distractions and impurities and also fasting for missionary work to progress. It was great. But we had to wake up at 3:30 in the morning on Saturday to take a train to go to daejeon by 9:00 in the morning. Then Elder and Sister Christofferson, Elder and Sister Whiting, and Brother and Sister Mains and our Mission president and his wife came at 10. It was sooooo good!!! Brother and Sister Mains spoke first and he especially talked about focusing on helping people understand the nature of the godhead, especialy those that don't have a Christian background. It was really good. Then Sister and Elder Christofferson spoke. Elder Christofferson opened it up for questions and people asked really good questions. He talked a lot about faith in Jesus Christ and how we will all come to a point in our lives when all we have to turn to is our faith in Jesus Christ. He also emphasized the Book of Mormon and how it is the key for conversion. One really interesting thing that he said is that one reason people are called to certain missions is not just to met certain companions and investigators but also to serve with that specific mission president. He said that that relationship will have an affect on the rest of our lives. I am super grateful that I had the opportunity to serve so closely with president and sister shin in my first area so that I could have a good relationship with them now. Then the most tender thing was that he pronounced a special blessing on us. He blessed us that as we study the scriptures we will receive greater light and knowledge, we will have convincing power when we teach, and that we will be blessed to know that Heavenly Father loves and accepts our service we are offering as his missionaries. It was a very tender experience. The spirit was so strong as he was testifying and witnessing of our Savior Jesus Christ. I too know that Helives and is our Savior.
Then I am lucky enough to be serving in the gwangju stake so I got to see Him again on Sunday when he came to speak to the stake and dedicate the new stake center. It was sooo good!! our investigator came and she loved it! He focused a lot on how baptism is just the first step toward the temple. Focused a lot on temples and teaching the gospel in the home. He also gave a great shout out to the missionaries and invited the members to work with us more. It was great! then he took the time to shake hands with all of the children in the audience.
Those were definitely the highlights of the week! I loved getting to see my old companions and other missionaries when we were all together.
We are on the search for new investigators right now. But life is good. Feeling super blessed right now. I love you all!!!!
